Project 52: Fresh Starts for writing on the web blog thing
Project 52 - has the sort of name that suggests it could be a mysterious lab experiment gone wrong, or an area of wasteland housing a possible alien spacecraft!
Although, sadly, it’s neither, it certainly invites writers on the web to push their creativity in new directions (references to aliens could also feature!)
Today, March 17th - St. Patrick’s Day, Project 52 gets a re-boot of sorts.
Launched at the start of the year, the project had a surprisingly large, initial following but then a lot of writers vanished or failed to write much (myself included), giving the whole effort a bit of a ‘false start’ overall. Maybe the re-boot will help? Project 52 is a very good idea and it came from the brain of Anton Peck (supported by others).
Admittedly, this post is a bit lightweight, more of an announcement than an article, but the idea is to write ‘more often’ and gradually roll out better blog articles of more substance (don’t laugh: it could happen!) Blog articles of true worth are becoming a rare find these days because people’s writing focus has shifted away to comments and tweets on social networks…every five minutes of the day, from anywhere. Writing out a blog article, or anything with more than 140 characters, now demands more dedication than it did in the past.
This is what Project 52 is hopefully going to promote: more, good articles on the web.
Other writers among the Project 52 group have already written posts similar to this one, I’m only writing this now though to link up with the whole St.Patrick’s Day re-boot.
I’m not going to write much about St.Patrick’s Day either (so, nothing about ‘The Irish’ in this post, the colour ‘Green’, or drinking Irish Beers….too much!) ;)
The Project 52 web site is worth a visit…take a look, maybe get involved too, it’s all good.
